Scalloped Serving Tray

Description

Create a striking glass piece using negative space and layered design. Begin with a 6" x 12" rectangle of opaque glass as your base. Arrange bits and pieces of glass to form your unique design, allowing the opaque background to enhance the negative space. Along the edges of your project, add small pieces of clear glass to create a scalloped effect. Stack two pieces at a time—start with a piece about the size of your thumbnail, then place a second piece roughly half that size on top. Space each stacked pair about ½ inch apart around the edge of your design. Once you're satisfied with your layout, you'll secure all pieces with glue. Your project will then be full-fused, allowing the layers to melt together and highlight both your negative-space design and the scalloped edge detail. After firing, your piece can be slumped into a graceful sway serving dish, resulting in a functional and one-of-a-kind work of art. ✨
