Handbuilding Pottery: 6-Week Course Discover the joy of creating pottery with your own hands in this beginner-friendly handbuilding class. Over six weeks, you’ll learn the three essential techniques—pinching, coiling, and slab building—while exploring how clay behaves from wet to fired stages. Each week builds your skills through hands-on projects, including a final larger piece that combines multiple techniques. You’ll also learn how to wedge clay, use basic studio tools, add texture, attach pieces securely with score and slip, and apply glaze safely and effectively. All clay, bisque firing, and glaze firing are included. Weekly Overview Week 1: Wedging, clay basics, and pinching Week 2: Coiling + making texture tools Week 3: Slab building Week 4–5: Larger combined-technique project Week 6: Glazing By the end of the course, you’ll understand the full hand building process and take home your own finished ceramic pieces.
