Dichroic Glass is a highly luminous, multicolor material with numerous patterns and textures. It is a hot design elements used today by glass fusing artists to make fine glass jewelry and artwork. Now you can join a public glass fusing class at our studio and make your own dichroic jewelry and artwork at affordable prices in two hours! The class includes an overview of glass fusion, a demo of glass design techniques and a hands-on session where you make dichroic glass jewelry (earrings, pendants, bracelets, rings, etc.) and glass pieces (sushi plates, pots, ash trays, etc.). Dichroic jewelry and artwork make distinctive birthdays, family, weddings and holidays gifts! We do the tedious, time consuming technical part of the process (preparing the kiln, testing glass compatibility, managing the firing, etc.) and teach you the creative part of the process: to cut, shape, combine and layer glass into artistic patterns. You will learn dichroic enhancement techniques that add pizzazz to your jewelry and artwork. During this two hours class we also show you how molds are used to slump glass in order to make complex pieces ( bowls, lamps, clocks, etc. ). Bring glass bottles (wine, beer, etc.) to be slumped into beautiful sushi plates, cheese trays, serving bowls, wind chimes, etc. We will charge a special class firing fee of $5 per bottle! Cost: $35 plus $10 material and firing fee for each piece made (covers instruction, studio use and personal coaching during the hands-on session so that you make at least one piece). After attending one class, the price of subsequent classes is $15 plus $10 for each piece made. If you plan to attend multiple sessions, you can save
money by joining our open studio glass program. Click here for details.
For 4 or more people, we will tailor this class to fit the group's interest and make it a private glass fusing party. Click here for some ideas and special group rates. Next workshops on Aug. 23 at 11 am and Aug. 28 at 7pm. Please wear closed toe shoes for these events! Reserve space today at: miyceramics@gmail.com. We also sell finished dichroic glass jewelry and artwork handmade at our studios by our resident artists and raw dichroic glass or fusible COE 96 glass for hobby glass artists. You can also buy all our glass products online at www.racingbutterfly.com.
